Laura Bramblett's Sports Bio
"Playin' Hard with Lots of Heart!"

I have played varsity basketball since 8th grade, and varsity soccer since 9th grade at my school, but unfortunately it does not offer a high school softball program.  It does, however, have a middle school team, and I actually coached the team last year, along with my dad, and we are doing so this year as well.

As for playing the sport of softball, I started on boys’ Little League baseball teams when I was seven, and moved over to softball when I was nine.  I started playing travel ball at age twelve, and have played A-level at 14U, 16U, and 18U and have been selected to play on a new 18U Gold team for the 2007 season.  The positions that I have the most experience in are shortstop, second base, and outfield.  I have been told that I am a ‘natural outfielder’, and my favorite position to play is left field, because I have great range, field presence, jump, and I love diving for balls.  I have been working and improving on becoming a slap hitter and slap bunter, and have quickness in getting down the line, as well as in the outfield.

At 16 I became a certified ASA umpire and have been umping 10U and 12U games.  I have experience in this great game from behind the plate, along the sidelines, as a coach, and as a dedicated player/teammate.
